Empowering Stewards, Preserving Traditions: Discover the Great Lakes with Baysail

Public Day Sails + Sunset Cruises | Educational Programming

Baysail is dedicated to fostering environmental stewardship of the Saginaw Bay Watershed and the Great Lakes ecosystem, while providing transformative personal development opportunities through shipboard and land-based education. Our programs, from hands-on STEM learning in Science Under Sail to immersive sail training in Windward Bound, cultivate a deep connection to the Great Lakes. Public sails, including our scenic sunset cruises and educational "Great Lakes 101" daysails, serve as vital gateways to our mission. While offering memorable experiences and showcasing the beauty of the region, these sails also introduce passengers to the ship's history, the importance of environmental preservation, and the interconnectedness of our natural world. By sharing stories and insights during these public voyages, we ignite a passion for the Great Lakes, turning casual sailors into informed stewards of this invaluable resource
